New Google Anti-Comment Spam Link Attribute
The Google Blog post Preventing Comment Spam announced a new rel=”nofollow” tag for links:
From now on, when Google sees the attribute (rel=”nofollow”) on hyperlinks, those links won’t get any credit when we rank websites in our search results.
I’m not sure I’m crazy about this, and it won’t help combat link-mongering blog spammers in other search engines (yet). Time will tell.
