It's a hard drive clicking
So there I was, innocently surfing the Web when I heard a clicking sound start up. Turned down the TV; no change. Walked around the office and discovered that it was emanating from one of our computers. Well, I know a little about this, having read about clicking hard drives, I realized that it meant that the hard drive was dying. Like, now.
Hard drives are not supposed to click. Clicking means that the hard drive was dying. (It could mean something else, but I don't know of anything else.)
At any rate, a quick call to a friend's cell (at 8:30 on a Sunday night!) and, a coupla hours later, the replacement drive had been installed and all was well.
This is the beauty of having a computer guru on *your* side of the fence. My personal thanks to Dan. :)

Having a husband who's also an IT consultant is great too ;-)

Sounds good, Sophie. I mean, look: you don't even have to call. :)
