Google admits compromise of principles

Yes: Google admits compromise of principles with respect to Google's dealings with China … and not just "Google", but Google co-founder Sergey Brin at a meeting with reporters in Washington:

Google Inc. co-founder Sergey Brin acknowledged Tuesday the dominant Internet company has compromised its principles by accommodating Chinese censorship demands. He said Google is wrestling to make the deal work before deciding whether to reverse course.

Well done for addressing this difficult issue publicly.

The article is a good read, as it also addresses Americans' expectations of data privacy versus "what is really actually happening".
